Highschool Students Helping Youth Homeless in Los Angeles.

Our Goal

The mission (pt.1) SeeTheunseen Homeless Non-Profit is a group of Palisades Charter Highschool students fighting Youth Homelessness in Los Angeles. SeeTheUnseen helps homeless youth in Los Angeles through a variety of charity events. We are launching mass cleanups for homeless groups in LA and finding what areas need help the most through direct interviews. The mission (pt.2) The mission of SeeTheUnseen is to help homeless youth and Homeless families in Los Angeles through filmmaking. We want to break the current social stereotypes of the homeless in Los Angeles. We interview and document people without housing in Los Angeles showing the true side of the homeless community, good people put in bad situations. Through proper documentation and filmmaking, we strive to share the truth about homelessness while spreading awareness for the cause.

Helping Homeless Families and Youth

 

  • What sets us apart from other similar organizations is we are a youth4youth program, meaning we are built by youth and designed to help and support youth homelessness. Our unique standpoint on the current housing epidemic also differentiates us. We want to make connections with those without housing and learn from them more about how easy it is to become homeless and how hard it is to get off the streets. Through this, we can gain a lot of insight and spread a lot of awareness not only on the extent of the situation but how to help cool the flame of the current spike in homelessness.

  • In the not-so far future we want to use the awareness we spread to collect donations and put those funds in the areas needed most based on what we learned from our documentaries. Through speaking and interviewing the homeless youth and families in Los Angeles we not only spread awareness for the cause but also learn where funds are needed most. A donate now tab is opened on the website, working directly with people without housing we will put the funds where they are needed most.

  • Our overall cause is to create long-lasting connections with people who have experienced little to no housing for a long period of time, or are currently homeless. This is to better understand why and how homelessness happens and how to stop it. By making connections with those effected we can document there stories and experience's, spreading awareness on the situation here and on other social media platforms.
